Ohio legends villagerrr have a new album on its way called Tear Your Heart Out, and it's truly special. Across 11 home-recorded songs of tasteful indie rock with understated twang, singer and songwriter Mark Scott solidifies himself as an essential young Midwest artist. It’s a new leap for an musician uncompromisingly doing things their way.
“I've always felt a little bit like an outsider,” says Scott. “I wanted to convey the emotions and everything in a healthier way than I have in the past with recordings. It's hopeful, a little melancholic, but smoother around the edges.”
Along with instant classics like "See" and "Barn Burner", the album features another banging single called "Neverrr Everrr", out today, featuring your favorite and ours, Merce Lemon, on vocals. As one might imagine, their voices match perfectly.
And the video is incredible too—another stellar effort from Trevor Hock. Mark and his band commune with the forest in this deer-filled, cruelty-free music video.
Oh yeah, and don't miss villagerrr on the road with Lily Seabird in February. These shows are going to be amazing.
